Who we are

ProfitSmarts is an Amazon repricing and pricing-analysis service operated by Patriot Knickerbocker, an individual in Maryland, USA.

What we read from your Amazon account

Through the Amazon Selling Partner API, and only after you authorize it, we read:

• your listings, their prices and any listing issues Amazon reports
• FBA fee estimates and aged-inventory data
• settlement reports
• the Featured Offer Expected Price for your listings, and the price of the offer that currently holds the Featured Offer

Your authorization also covers orders data at the SKU and quantity level, and sales and traffic reports. We do not read either today. We will update this page before we do.

What we change

We change the price of a listing only after you approve the batch that contains it. How each change is recorded and undone is set out in our Terms.

What we never collect

We do not request, retrieve or store personally identifiable information about your buyers: no names, addresses, emails or phone numbers. We do not request any of Amazon's restricted API roles.

Your Amazon credentials

The refresh token Amazon issues when you authorize ProfitSmarts is kept in a credentials file for your account alone, on the operator's own computer. It is never committed to source control.

Tokens are never written to logs, error output or crash reports. All communication with Amazon is over HTTPS, using TLS 1.2 or higher.

Who can access it

ProfitSmarts is operated by a single named individual, who is the only person with access to your seller data.

Where it is kept

Your seller data is kept on the operator's own computer. Some seller data is also kept in private GitHub repositories as a backup.

When the operator investigates a problem, parts of your seller data may be processed by Claude, a software development assistant made by Anthropic.

This website is hosted on Vercel, which never receives your seller data.

How long we keep it

We keep your data only while we work together.

When you revoke authorization or we stop working together, your credentials file is deleted immediately and all other seller data we hold is deleted within 30 days.

The one exception is the price-change audit log, which records every price we wrote, the price it replaced, Amazon's response and the time. We keep it as the record of actions taken on your account, and it is available to you on request.

What we never do with it

Your data is never sold, never shared with anyone except the services named on this page, and never used to train anything.

This website

This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from any other service. Vercel, like any web host, records standard request logs such as IP address and browser type.
